Zenvo ST1: A hypercar you probably didn't know existed

I won't get technical on what separates a supercar from a hypercar but the main points are that a hypercar should be very rare, relatively expensive and have a ridiculous specification sheet. Well trust me the Zenvo ST1 has all of that covered. It's been around since 2009 but we're discussing it now because the 2015 model it's slightly different from the previous ones. Let's just say it received a few upgrades.
Being the only supercar ever made in Denmark, Zenvo had to produce something spectacular to draw the attention of the world. And they did, by making the ST1 immensely powerful and giving it a very unusual design. It has a 7.0 litre turbocharged AND supercharged V8 putting out 1,104hp and 1,054lb ft of torque. This catapults the car from rest to 60mph in just under 3 seconds and goes on to reach a top speed of about 235mph. Also, they made this a rear wheel drive car, which is fine for your normal, everyday Porsche. But this is over 1,100hp! And that's the amazing part, that they made it work. It has an adjustable double wishbone suspension, similar to what you find in racecars, which provides a lot of traction and stability in the corners. To make it as light as they possibly could, Zenvo gave the ST1 a full carbon fibre body and a chassis made from lightweight steel and aluminium monocoque. This results the ST1 to be 100kg lighter than a Bugatti Veyron, at 1788kg.
The 2015 model will also have a brand new 7 speed gearbox which was made with the help and expertise of CIMA. This new gearbox can change gears in just 35 milliseconds therefore the power delivery is almost uninterrupted. This means that this car changes gear faster than the time a human needs to blink!
Zenvo announced that only 15 of these monsters will be built. The price is not definite yet, but the estimations range from 1-1.8 million dollars. And lets be honest for that kind of money you can get a Bugatti Veyron, a LaFerrari(barely), a P1, a 918 and the list goes on. Why would someone would want to buy a $1,000,000+ hypercar from a relatively inexperienced company when there are so many more recognised and more known brands? Well, I believe the answer is that none of them can really compete with the ST1. Yes, they are probably better in every way, but the ST1 provides you with the chance to explore the unknown and the absurd. That's what I love about it.
So there we have it. The ST1 is definitely a hypercar. It has the performance, very few are ever going to be built and to get one you need to right a seven-digit cheque. I don't even need to comment on the looks, you can decide by yourselves. All that I have to say is that if i could afford one, I wouldn't think twice.
