The first Praga supercar after 68 years

Praga is a Czech car maker which hasn't been in the market for the past 68 years. This 108 year old company carries a lot of heritage, so when I heard that they built a supercar, I was expecting something impressive.

Based on their R1 race car, the R1 R is very light and very powerful, making it a very dangerous weapon on the track. I weighs just 670kg, due to its carbon fibre body, and has a power to weight ratio of 575bhp per tonne which is more than a Bugatti Veyron. Under the hood it has a 2.0 litre Formula Renault engine modified by Praga by adding their own turbocharger and electronic systems. It produces 390bhp which is enough to take it from 0-60mph in just 3.0 seconds and shifts gears in a blink of an eye, courtesy of its six-speed automatic racing transmission.

This fantastic two-seater, costs 140,000 pounds, which is a lot, I know. There are many other cheaper street legal track day cars you can choose from. Ariel, Caterham, KTM and Radical are some perfect examples. But Praga provides something they don't to their customers: exclusivity. Praga wants their customers to be exclusive, therefore, in order to commemorate their 68 year absence from the car scene, only 68 units will be produced. This car is not for everybody, but the lucky ones that can afford it and manage to get one, will understand why this is more special than anything else in its category.
